Acércate a RD community policies
Acércate a RD is a portal focused on family-friendly enjoyment, the discovery of destinations in the Dominican Republic and the responsible exchange of tourism experiences among users. Our goal is to provide a useful, respectful and safe space to share visited places, recommendations, photos, videos, opinions and helpful alerts for other travelers.
1. Expected use of the portal
The portal must be used lawfully, respectfully and consistently with its main purpose. Users may publish experiences, suggestions and recommendations related to local tourism, culture, gastronomy, nature, events, provinces, beaches, activities and places of interest within the Dominican Republic.
The portal may not be used for purposes unrelated to that objective, or for activities that affect other users' experience or the platform's reputation.
2. Allowed content
Users may share content related to real experiences, recommendations, useful comments, photographs, videos and information of tourism interest, as long as that content relates to the portal's focus, does not infringe third-party rights, is presented respectfully and does not mislead, defraud or create confusion.
3. Prohibited content
It is not allowed to publish, transmit, store or promote content that includes:
- insults, threats, harassment or degrading language;
- pornography, explicit nudity or sexually explicit material;
- graphic violence or content that promotes physical harm;
- discrimination, hate or attacks against people or groups;
- deliberate misinformation or misleading content about places, services or people;
- spam, abusive promotions, unauthorized advertising or deceptive solicitation;
- impersonation;
- illegal material or material that violates copyright, trademarks, image rights or privacy;
- links, files or posts that compromise the security of the portal or its users.
4. Photos, videos and texts published by users
Users should only upload their own content or content they are sufficiently authorized to share. By publishing on the portal, the user states that they hold the necessary rights over that material or have valid permission to use it.
The user keeps ownership of their content, but authorizes the portal to display, store, organize, technically adapt and show it within the platform, its sections, listings, featured posts, galleries, rankings, official social channels or promotional pieces, always within the context of operating, promoting and improving the service.
5. Moderation and content review
Acércate a RD may review profiles, comments, images, videos, messages, posts and other materials shared on the platform for moderation, quality, security and compliance purposes.
The portal may visually edit, hide, unpublish, limit, reject or remove content it considers inappropriate, doubtful, out of context, low quality, risky or contrary to these policies, even without prior notice.
6. Reports and community collaboration
If a user detects inappropriate, offensive, fraudulent, illegal or potentially harmful content, they may report it through the contact or reporting channels enabled by the portal.
7. Minors
Minors must use the portal with authorization and supervision from their parents, guardians or legal representatives. Responsibility for minors' use rests with those responsible adults.
8. Messages and conversations between users
The portal may offer communication features between users. For operational, performance and maintenance reasons, conversations may be kept for a limited time and then deleted automatically or manually by the system, even if they have not been read.
9. Measures for non-compliance
If a user violates these policies, Acércate a RD may apply measures such as:
- warning;
- hiding or removing content;
- temporary restriction of features;
- account suspension;
- permanent cancellation of access.
10. Updates to these policies
Acércate a RD may update these policies when necessary to improve portal operations, address functional changes, strengthen security or adapt to new service needs.
